Imphal: Tension boiled over in Manipur after the All Naga Students Association, Manipur accused security forces of attacking women protesters. The incident occurred on June 28 along the Imphal-Tamenglong Road in Thonglang. Witnesses claim CRPF personnel and Kangpokpi Police used excessive force against the unarmed group. The students association says officers brought in an earthmover to tear down a traditional Naga village gate. The group also recovered spent bullet casings at the site the next morning.

Protesters gathered to demand justice for six Naga men killed earlier this month. They want a quick investigation and accountability for the victims. The student group stated, "The organisation reiterated its support for the economic blockade being enforced in Naga-inhabited areas under the banner of the United Naga Council." They claim the state government has been too slow to act, eroding public trust.

The group maintains that the ongoing agitation will not stop until their demands are met. They want a time-bound probe into the murders and a firm end to police aggression. They also demand that security forces stay out of Naga villages unless local authorities give permission. The blockade will continue across Naga-inhabited areas until the government yields.
