Imphal: The Naga People’s Organisation is demanding answers from the CRPF’s CoBRA unit. Security forces hit the Leilon Vaiphei area on 21 June 2026. They targeted the KNF-P insurgent group. Reports indicate forces surrounded nearly 100 armed fighters from the KNF-P, UKNA, and KRA groups. These militants stand accused of kidnapping 18 Naga civilians and murdering six of them.

The operation involved heavy gunfire and explosives. Yet, security forces walked away without a single arrest. No major results came from the raid. Two days later, troops moved on the KNF-P Ebenezer Camp. Again, they came up empty. Public frustration is boiling over. Families still wait for justice as the bodies of the six victims sit in the JNIMS mortuary.

NPO leaders sent a formal list of demands to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh. They want real transparency and impartial law enforcement. The organization stated, "Justice must be pursued without fear or favour, particularly in cases involving grave crimes against civilians."

Police lathi-charged and arrested peaceful protesters at Namdilong-Kanglatongbi on 24 June 2026. The NPO condemned the crackdown. They warned that if authorities keep using force against agitators, protesters might block military supply lines. The group insists the government must stop the high-handed tactics and track down the killers.
