Imphal: Hundreds of Naga and Meitei women crowded Khwairamband Ima Keithel on Tuesday. They gathered under heavy security to demand justice for six murdered Naga civilians. Businesses across Imphal locked their doors in support of the demonstration.

Organizers want a special session of the State Assembly. They aim to force a real debate on the violence gripping Manipur. Protesters carried signs demanding an end to the proxy war and called for accountability in recent killings. The coalition included the Naga People’s Union Imphal, the Foothills Naga Coordination Committee, and several local market groups.

FNCC president Ng Akhiu pressed for legal action regarding the bodies found mutilated. He told reporters, "Lasting peace in Manipur would not be possible without justice for all victims." The crowd also demanded the release of detained village volunteers and a search for over 30 missing Meitei individuals.

The protesters set firm political targets. They want the government to scrap the Suspension of Operations agreement with Kuki militants. They also asked for Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen to resign. Police on site noted the protest marked a rare show of unity between these communities as ethnic tensions continue to boil.
