Kohima: Lok Sabha MP S. Supongmeren Jamir gathered local officials in Peren on July 3 to audit the state of government projects. As head of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee, he pushed for better results. He wants results, not excuses.
The session focused on how Centrally Sponsored Schemes are actually hitting the ground in Peren. Department heads from Veterinary, Labour, and Agriculture gave briefings on their current progress. Supongmeren noted that slow approvals from central authorities and communication gaps often stall local work.
He told the room the meeting exists to fix problems, not pick fights. "The intention was not to criticise departments but to ensure effective and judicious implementation of projects," he said. The MP promised to bundle these local recommendations into reports for specific Ministries or raise them directly on the floor of Parliament.
DC Hiazu Meru opened the floor, welcoming village leaders from New Peren, Kejanglwa, and Old Chalkot. The officials held a rigorous session to identify bottlenecks. They plan to sharpen delivery for future district development.
