Kohima: The Mokokchung Press Club observed its 18th Foundation Day on June 7 by launching a tree plantation drive along NH-702D. Members of the organization planted cherry blossom saplings near the Mongsenbai Road stretch, continuing a beautification project first initiated in 2018.
The press club intends for the project to improve the visual appeal of the currently vacant road section while fostering a greater sense of environmental responsibility among residents. According to the organization, the goal is to make the town greener and increase public awareness regarding urban beautification. As stated by the MPC, the initiative aims to make the area greener while creating greater public awareness about environmental conservation and urban beautification in Mokokchung.
