Agartala: Kalyanpur will soon get a new, scientifically designed drainage system to stop the flooding that ruins the local market. For years, light rain turned the area into a swamp, hurting traders and residents alike. MLA Pinaki Das Choudhury announced the project to fix this mess. The build includes covered drains and culverts to speed up water discharge. Officials expect to finish the work in a few months. Choudhury calls this the first step toward building a planned mini city.
The MLA remains focused on public service. He joined residents at Booth 19 in the Kalyanpur-Pramodnagar constituency to listen to the 137th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat. The event drew party workers and community members together. Choudhury praised the message, stating, “Every message from the Prime Minister reminds us of our responsibility towards the nation and society.”
Across the state, other leaders also tuned in. SC Welfare Minister Sudhanshu Das listened to the broadcast at Krishnanagar Booth 10 in the Fatikroy Mandal. Das highlighted the Prime Minister’s update on the Bharat Rajya website, which details regional history. He also praised government efforts to boost women entrepreneurs through PM SVANidhi and training programs.
Solar energy remains a major focus of these national initiatives. Minister Das noted that the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana is now powering homes in remote areas. Members of the Reang tribes in Tripura are using these solar mini-grids to help their farms and small businesses. Officials say these stories of grassroots success drive national unity and personal responsibility.
