Agartala: Construction is underway at the historic Shiva temple near Saronjay School in Daocherra. Residents of the Kalyanpur-Pramodnagar constituency have pushed for this project for years. The site serves as a cornerstone of local faith and cultural heritage. Now, the old structure is getting a modern upgrade while keeping its traditional roots intact.
MLA Pinaki Das Choudhury visited the site to check on the progress. He walked the grounds to inspect structural quality and talk with workers. He wants the job finished on time. The project draws from the MLA Development Scheme to cover costs. "The temple is not just a place of worship but a symbol of faith and heritage for the people of Daocherra. Responding to their long-standing demand, reconstruction has been initiated under the MLA Development Fund. We are committed to completing the work swiftly and properly," Choudhury said.
Locals expect the new building to host larger crowds during festivals. It marks a major milestone for the community. One devotee noted that the temple remains a part of their identity. The finished space will offer a renewed home for rituals and local tradition.
