Agartala: MLA Pinaki Das Choudhury brought 28 new voters into the Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday. These individuals from five families joined the party during a preparatory meeting at Kalyanpur market. The group followed DYFI regional committee joint secretary Deepraj Deb into the BJP fold.
Mandal president Nitai Bal and other local figures including Purnendu Bhattacharjee, Asim Deb Roy, and Ruma Sutradhar attended the event. Tapas Deb Roy presided over the gathering. Party leaders handed out BJP flags to the newcomers to mark their official start with the organization.
The meeting focused on organizational plans ahead of the July 26 Martyrs’ Memorial rally. This event honors Khagendra Debnath. Choudhury addressed the crowd about the political shift. "The decision of the families to join the BJP reflected growing public trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s development-oriented policies and welfare programmes," said the MLA.
Choudhury pushed party workers to unify and expand their grassroots reach. He wants the upcoming memorial rally to be a historic success. The event will pay tribute to Debnath while showcasing the party’s growing influence in the region.
