Aizawl: Mizoram Assembly Speaker Lalbiakzama has called for the active preservation of Mizo cultural traditions and values, describing them as the core foundation of the community's identity. During a cultural event known as Zo Ni, organized by the Young Mizo Association at Sesawng, he highlighted how protecting this unique heritage enhances the standing of both the state and the country.

"In a diverse country like India, safeguarding our unique cultural identity enhances the beauty and prestige of our State and the nation while earning respect from other communities," he stated. The Speaker noted that Mizoram has seen a steady rise in tourism recently, with visitors frequently showcasing positive aspects of Mizo culture on social media platforms.

Lalbiakzama emphasized that this growing recognition relies on the collective efforts of the public. He encouraged citizens to maintain traditional values such as Tlawmngaihna, which represents the spirit of selfless service, alongside showing respect for elders and supporting community welfare. To ensure these practices survive, he urged the community to pass down folk songs, dances, and traditional attire to younger generations.
