Aizawl: Mizoram is boiling over the NEET paper leak. On Tuesday, Mizoram Pradesh Congress Committee leaders held a protest near Raj Bhavan in Aizawl. They condemned the detention of Rahul Gandhi and other opposition figures in New Delhi. The group handed a memorandum to Governor Vijay Kumar Singh for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They demand the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The party also wants all FIRs against protesting students dropped.
Wednesday brought a larger surge of anger. Hundreds of students rallied in front of Vanapa Hall. They shouted slogans like "Modi ko hatao, Desh Bachao" and pushed for an end to unemployment. The crowd included local Mizo students and those from other communities. They want justice for candidates whose futures were wrecked by exam fraud. These students also voiced support for activist Sonam Wangchuk and his fight for student rights.
Even the Mizo National Front weighed in. The party called the student movement a courageous act to protect fair opportunities. They labeled the protest a signal of deep public frustration with corruption. This political heat comes after chaos in New Delhi during the Monsoon Session. Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were detained near the Prime Minister's residence before their release late Tuesday night. The Mizo Zirlai Pawl plans another separate demonstration for Thursday.
