Aizawl: Mizoram Pradesh Congress Committee members rallied near the Aizawl Raj Bhavan on Tuesday. They gathered to protest the detention of Rahul Gandhi and other opposition figures in New Delhi. Police reported no trouble during the brief demonstration.

Protesters marched to condemn the recent police crackdown on students and the ongoing NEET paper leak crisis. They handed a formal memorandum to Governor Vijay Kumar Singh. The document is headed for Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

MPCC spokesperson Lalremruata Renthlei stated the party stands with Gandhi. He noted the goal is to protect student interests. Renthlei said, "The protest was organised to express solidarity with Rahul Gandhi and his campaign for protecting the rights and interests of students."

The Congress demands Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan step down immediately. They blame the NDA government for failing the nation's youth. The party also wants a full parliamentary debate regarding exam irregularities. They further called for the withdrawal of all FIRs filed against students during Monday's Delhi protests. Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were released Tuesday night after being held near the Prime Minister's residence.
