Aizawl: The government of Mizoram is introducing a new mobile application called MizoTaxi to regulate public transport costs and eliminate overcharging. This digital initiative mandates that all taxi, auto-rickshaw, and two-wheeler taxi operators adhere strictly to government-approved fare structures.

Aizawl will serve as the initial launch site for the service, which is set to begin operations on July 1. Through the app, commuters can verify their travel costs and process payments according to official regulations.

State authorities stated that the project aims to modernize the local transport sector by improving transparency and accountability. This move underscores the government's broader commitment to protecting passengers from unfair pricing practices through modern digital solutions.
