Aizawl: Mizoram Governor VK Singh marked the 91st anniversary of the Young Mizo Association by commending the organization for its commitment to social welfare. During the Raising Day celebrations, the Governor highlighted the group's long history of supporting vulnerable citizens, preserving cultural heritage, and assisting the government with various public initiatives.

Governor Singh emphasized the traditional Mizo ethos of Tlawmngaihna, which encourages selflessness and empathy. He urged residents to uphold these values while fostering unity and respecting local traditions. Addressing the growing concern of substance abuse in the region, he stated that building a safer future for the younger generation requires a strong, collective responsibility.

In response to the Governor's message, Central YMA president R Lalngheta encouraged members to strengthen their ongoing efforts to address social challenges. He highlighted the urgency of the situation, stating that drug peddlers are "enemies of families, communities and the state."

The milestone event prompted various YMA branches to host service projects across the state. Members conducted cleanup drives in local neighborhoods and provided direct support to orphanages, rehabilitation centers, and families in need.
