Mizoram Governor Prepares for North Eastern Council Meeting

Aizawl: Mizoram Governor Vijay Kumar Singh held a review meeting at Lok Bhavan on Monday to coordinate the state's preparations for the 73rd plenary session of the North Eastern Council. The event is scheduled to take place in Shillong on June 4 under the leadership of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

During the session, the Governor emphasized the central government's dedication to regional progress. He directed various state departments to boost their efforts to ensure Mizoram's specific development priorities receive clear representation during the discussions.

David Lalthantluanga, secretary of the state planning and programme implementation department, briefed the participants on the progress made since the previous council meeting. He provided a detailed account of the follow-up actions taken regarding decisions from the December 2024 plenary held in Agartala. The state continues to focus on aligning local strategies with broader regional development objectives ahead of the upcoming gathering.
