Midland Ward Joins Kohima Cleanliness Campaign

Kohima: Midland ward residents hit the streets Thursday. They cleared debris and waste to meet standards set by the Kohima Municipal Council. The effort follows a direct circular from the council to comply with national guidelines. It aligns with the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 program.

The event operated under the banner of Swachhata Main Sabhag: Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat. Organizers pushed for a whole of government and whole of society approach. Everyone worked under the banner of Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath Shrandaan.

KMC Councillor Kekhrieselhou Metha kept the crews moving. He provided refreshments to every participant during the hours of labor. Midland Council Chairman Menuokholie Kire praised the effort. He noted that he thanked all the concerned citizens for their active participation in this cleanliness drive.
