Meluri Officials Strengthen Disaster Preparedness Ahead of Monsoon

Kohima: The District Disaster Management Authority of Meluri held a meeting on May 22 to organize strategies for the upcoming monsoon season. The session took place at the DB Court in the deputy commissioner office and focused on improving coordination between local agencies to ensure public safety.

Phuleshe K. Yepthomi, the deputy commissioner and chairman of DDMA Meluri, led the discussion. He instructed representatives from various government departments to stay vigilant and maintain clear communication channels to effectively handle potential disasters.

During the meeting, officials reviewed emergency response protocols and preventive actions for risks such as landslides, flash floods, and heavy rainfall. David Thupitor, the nodal officer for DDMA Meluri, presented a detailed plan on how the district aims to mitigate these hazards throughout the rainy months.
