Meira Paibis Demand Legal Action Against Man Over Defamatory Facebook Posts

Imphal: Meira Paibi representatives from the Naoriya Pakhanglakpa Assembly Constituency gathered at the Community Hall in Heirangoithong today. They demanded the Cyber Crime Police arrest Paonam Dhaneshor for targeting MLA S. Kebi with offensive Facebook posts.

Maibam Purnimashi, a leader of the Meira Paibis, identified the 60-year-old suspect as a resident of Khurai Kongpal Sajor Leikai. She alleged that Dhaneshor operated a fake account under the name P. Premananda to spread malicious content. The posts caused deep alarm among local women's groups. They view the behavior as a direct attempt to malign a female public official.

Purnimashi warned that silence will only invite more attacks on women in the public eye. She stated, "failure to address such incidents could encourage similar attacks on women." The group is calling for swift legal consequences. Purnimashi also cautioned social media users to stop sharing content that strips women of their dignity.
