Imphal: Unidentified gunmen sprayed bullets at the home of Sarungbam Herojit around 11.30 pm on September 28. The attack happened in Samurou Naorem Chaprou Awang Leikai. It left the neighborhood shaken. Residents heard the shots and fear spiked instantly.
Local women organized a protest meeting at the Samurou Naorem Chaprou Awang Leikai Community Hall. They held placards demanding an end to gunfire in residential zones. The demonstrators urged perpetrators to stop terrorizing peaceful families.
Samurou Naorem Apunba Meira Paibi Secretary Oinam Chaoba Chanu led the outcry. She condemned the violence and called for urgent local vigilance. "The incident had caused concern among residents," she said. She also pushed other local groups to help stop these attacks before they happen again.
Organizers issued a stern warning. They told those responsible to quit creating fear. Continued gunfire threatens the peace of the entire area.
