MLA Shyamkumar threatens lawsuit over Moirangpurel health center claims

Imphal: Andro MLA Thounaojam Shyamkumar plans to sue the People’s United Youth Alliance for defamation. The politician hit back at the group during a press conference at his Angtha Ngariyan Chingkhong residence. He dismissed claims that private staff replaced government doctors and nurses at the Moirangpurel Community Health Centre. He wants the truth. The legislator demanded the group produce documentary evidence to back their claims to the proper authorities.

Shyamkumar noted the facility became a CHC in 2019 after being upgraded from a Primary Health Sub-Centre. He stated that Raj Medicity helped mobilize extra staff and resources to keep the doors open. A management committee now oversees operations to ensure consistent care. Staff worked through the COVID-19 pandemic to treat locals.

The MLA warned the group of legal consequences if their accusations prove false. He challenged them directly, stating, "If it is proved to be true, then he would be ready to accept any legal process." Current efforts aim to add more technicians and equipment to the center. Shyamkumar claims the group only wants to smear those providing medical services to Moirangpurel residents.
