Imphal: Security forces in Manipur conducted two separate operations on May 26 to target illegal infrastructure and hidden arms caches. In the Ukhrul district, police demolished three illegal bunkers located in Patleijang and Roudei villages. During this sweep, officers seized a five-kilogram improvised explosive device, two pompi guns, and various radio communication sets along with ammunition.

A second operation took place in the forested areas near Hengkot village in the Churachandpur district. There, authorities discovered a large collection of weapons including an MK-II rifle, an AK-47, and several country-made rifles and sniper guns. The recovery also featured five additional explosive devices, wireless handsets, and tactical gear such as camouflage boots and magazine pouches.

Officials confirmed that search and area domination efforts remain ongoing across vulnerable regions of the state. These operations are part of a broader push by law enforcement to stabilize fringe areas and remove illicit weapons from circulation.
