Imphal: Manipur police conducted a series of operations over two days resulting in the arrest of several members of banned insurgent groups. Security forces took active cadres from groups including PREPAK, the PLA, and the NRFM into custody across Imphal East, Imphal West, and Thoubal districts.

Among those detained was Thingujam Gulapi Singh, a member of the proscribed PREPAK outfit, along with PLA cadre Waikhom Shanta Singh. Officials also apprehended Ayekpam Dharmendra Singh, an alleged captain in the RPF/PLA, and two others near Mayai Keithel, one of whom was a juvenile associated with the NRFM.

In addition to the arrests, security personnel dismantled three illegal bunkers in Ukhrul district, specifically at Patleijang and Roudei villages. These operations led to the recovery of a five-kilogram improvised explosive device, pompi guns, and radio communication equipment.

A separate search in the forest area near Hengkot village in Churachandpur district uncovered a significant stockpile of weaponry. The recovered items included an AK-47 rifle, an MK-II rifle, a .303 rifle, various country-made guns, and five additional IEDs. Forces also seized ammunition, wireless handsets, and tactical gear from the site to prevent further unrest in the region.
