Imphal: Protesters filled the streets of Imphal East and Imphal West on Sunday. They gathered to condemn the deaths of six Naga civilians. Locals allege armed Kuki militants abducted and killed the victims. Demonstrations broke out in Koirengei, Luwangsangbam, Mantripukhri, Nilakuthi, and Laipham Khunou.

Angry crowds want the state government to label the Kuki National Front as a terrorist group. They also demanded the removal of Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen. Protesters called for the eviction of illegal villages built in defiance of the law. They held signs questioning why local security forces failed to stop the bloodshed.

A coalition of civil society groups, including AMUCO and the Manipuri Students' Federation, staged a separate sit-in at Lamphel Sanakeithel. These groups blamed the federal government for the ongoing instability. They accused the Centre of waging a "proxy war" in the state. Leaders urged indigenous communities to stand together against those trying to tear Manipur apart.

Authorities did not respond to the claims immediately. The accusations remain unverified by independent sources. The situation remains tense as calls for peace and justice grow louder.
