Imphal: Manipur Police held a one-day awareness event at Anita Standard High School in Bishnupur district this Tuesday. The session aimed to educate 50 students about the risks of cybercrime and the devastating effects of drug abuse on both individuals and the wider community.

Officers led interactive discussions and a question-and-answer session to help students navigate safe internet practices. During the event, police officials voiced concerns regarding the spread of unverified and provocative content on social media. They warned that such material often incites communal tension and disrupts public order.

Police authorities emphasized that residents must verify information before sharing it to prevent the growth of misinformation and social disharmony. Officials stated, "The creation, uploading, publication, or circulation of fake, misleading, or objectionable content on social media platforms would invite strict legal action in accordance with the law."

Students and local citizens are now encouraged to rely strictly on authenticated sources. The force continues its mission to promote safety through community-focused initiatives across the state.
