Imphal: Manipur Police arrested two individuals in the Kakching district on May 18 following the seizure of illicit substances. During an operation conducted in the Pallel Laimanai Chingjin area, authorities apprehended 52-year-old Th. Vini and 55-year-old Ayola Shinglai, both of whom reside in Liwa Leikun Village within the Chandel district. Law enforcement officials reported that 288 SP capsules and two mobile phones were confiscated from the pair.
Beyond this specific arrest, security forces have intensified their presence across Manipur to maintain regional stability. Ongoing operations include extensive area domination exercises and search missions within vulnerable fringe zones throughout both hill and valley districts. As part of these heightened security protocols, authorities have established 113 checkpoints and nakas to monitor movement and enforce order.
Ensuring the uninterrupted flow of supplies remains a primary focus for the administration. Security personnel provided protective escorts for 299 vehicles carrying essential commodities along National Highway 37. These convoys are designed to facilitate safe transit through sensitive stretches, with officials confirming that strict security arrangements will remain in place across all at-risk locations to protect public safety and transport routes.
