Imphal: Manipur DGP Mukesh Singh toured Kakching and Chandel districts Monday to tighten security protocols. Accompanied by the ADGP, he met with state police, central forces, and community leaders. The focus remains on protecting farmers and clearing out illegal weapons.

Singh demanded aggressive action against drug rings and rebels. He ordered officers to recover looted firearms, promising rewards for high-performing teams. The DGP specifically praised the local cycle patrol program for building trust. He noted, "The Cycle Patrol initiative is an effective model of community-oriented beat policing."

The tour moved to Leikun at the 8th Manipur Rifles base. Security outposts faced a deep internal audit. Singh challenged commanders to find better ways to deploy guards and manage limited resources.

The visit concluded in Chandel with the launch of a new cybercrime unit. The office also received a fresh conference room to modernize local investigations. Singh reminded staff that results come from shared intelligence. He credited the current peace in the district to the tight coordination between police and civilian groups.
