Imphal: Manipur Police hauled in two insurgents during separate raids on September 19. Officers struck in the Imphal West and Bishnupur districts. These men remain in custody.
Bishnupur Commandos tracked down 20-year-old Kangabam Albert Meitei, also known as Amuba, at Phoijing Makha Leikai. He is the son of K Rameshwor Singh and serves as an active member of the RPF/PLA. The arrest marks a hit against that group's local presence.
A joint task force involving the Special CDO Unit and the 10 Assam Rifles nabbed the second target. They caught 39-year-old Namoijam Boboi Mangang near Gate 1 of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences in Lamphel. Mangang, the son of N Meipak Singh, lives in Haorang Khunou Warok Sabal within the Imphal West district.
Lamphel police station oversaw the legal processing of the suspect. Officials confirmed Mangang is an active cadre of the National Revolutionary Front of Manipur. Authorities stated, "Manipur Police arrested two active insurgents in separate operations in Imphal West and Bishnupur districts on September 19."
