Imphal: Manipur police nabbed two suspects during separate raids on August 17. These operations targeted insurgent networks and drug trafficking rings across the state. Officers took both men into custody as part of a push against criminal activity.

A CDO-Imphal West team tracked down 56-year-old Kangujam Singhajit Singh at Thongju Part-II near the Singjamei police station. Singh, who also goes by the aliases Malemnganba and Boicha, lives in Bashikhong Wangkhei Loumanbi. Police identified him as a member of the proscribed People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak. He is a PREPAK member, police said.

In a separate strike, the Narcotics and Affairs of Border police station caught Manikumar Sunari in the Kangpokpi district. NAB personnel tracked him to Saitu Gamphazol. This arrest stems from an active FIR filed under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Investigators linked Sunari to a case involving the seizure of thousands of bottles of codeine-based cough syrup.
