Imphal: The Manipur National People's Party delivered sewing machines to displaced families living at the TYC Kumbi Relief Camp this Thursday. Party leadership launched the drive to help residents earn their own money. It aims to put people back on their feet.
Dr. Lorho S. Pfoze, the party's state president, attended the event alongside other top officials including Jilasana Ph., Irengbam Hemochandra, and Lakpachui Siro. They met with families forced from their homes by the current state crisis. The machines provide a way for displaced women to start small businesses and support their households.
Party representatives said these efforts go beyond basic charity. Speaking at the relief camp, officials noted that such initiatives are important in "restoring confidence and dignity among displaced communities."
Beneficiaries welcomed the new equipment. Many hope to use the machines to build a sustainable income during this difficult time. The party plans to continue pushing for women's empowerment and community welfare across the region.
