Manipur Launches Jan Kalyan Shivir to Expand Access to Welfare Schemes

Imphal: The Jan Kalyan Shivir campaign is currently underway across Manipur, running from June 12 to 20. This state-wide initiative aims to ensure the effective outreach and saturation of various central and state government welfare programs by bringing services directly to local districts.

In Tamenglong, the district administration opened a three-day camp at the Multi-Purpose Hall. Seventeen stalls are available for residents to handle tasks such as Aadhaar enrolment, PM-Kisan registration, tuberculosis screening, and the issuance of ST certificates. Several local officials, including ADC Tamenglong CEO Kachamthai F. Gangmei and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sunil Kamei, attended the launch to oversee proceedings.

Senapati district launched a similar three-day effort at the Multi-Purpose Hall near the Mini Secretariat Complex. Featuring twenty-five departmental stalls, the camp facilitates on-the-spot service delivery and grievance redressal. Deputy Commissioner Dharun Kumar S. highlighted the initiative, stating it is an important step towards transparent and citizen-centric governance by bringing essential government services closer to the people.

Beneficiaries in Senapati received various items and documents, including Kisan Credit Card sanction letters, health insurance cards, sports materials, and assistive devices. Additional camps were also held in the Lairouching and Song Song sub-divisions. Meanwhile, the Pherzawl District Administration launched its own program at the Parbung Community Hall, where residents accessed health screenings and registrations for schemes like PM-JAY and PM Surya Ghar. Officials intend for these camps to bridge the gap between government administration and citizens living in remote areas, and they are encouraging all eligible individuals to utilize the available resources before the campaign concludes on June 20.
