Imphal: Traffic is moving again on National Highway 37. Authorities reopened the road on the morning of June 25 following repairs to a landslide-hit stretch in Tamenglong district.

Heavy rain triggered multiple slides on June 24, including a major collapse at Shantikhunou near a CRPF camp. Other slides hit Nungdolan and Oinamlong Zero Point, forcing a total shutdown of the vital route linking Manipur to the rest of India.

Crews scrambled to restore access. They finished a new RCC slab culvert to replace a temporary diversion washed away by the storms. Police officers now oversee the crossing. According to police, "traffic movement began around 8:30 am" after officials cleared the route.

Empty trucks moved first. Officials plan to allow loaded vehicles through next if the culvert remains stable under the weight. A team from Kaimai Police Station is managing the flow alongside construction workers to keep goods moving safely into the state.
