Imphal: Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla met with five students and their families at Lok Bhavan in Imphal on Monday. These kids, all living in relief camps after fleeing violence in Moreh and Churachandpur, are getting a fresh start. The Information Technology Institute for the Tribes of India and Doon Sanskriti School in Dehradun are covering their education, food, and housing through Class 10.

Assam Rifles will pick up the tab for the flight to Uttarakhand. The force chose these students while working under the Inspector General of Assam Rifles South. Maj. Gen. Gaurav Sharma and Brig. Pratyush Kumar sat in on the meeting to see the kids off. The Governor told the group it is a "remarkable opportunity" and urged them to work hard and sharpen their skills.

Ethnic fighting has shattered thousands of lives. Recent state data shows nearly 60,000 people still live in 174 relief camps across Manipur. While thousands of children moved to local schools, many families remain stuck in these shelters. Education programs serve as a lifeline for these displaced students during the state crisis.
