Manipur Film Institute Opens Registration for August Cinema Course

Imphal: The Manipur State Film and Television Institute is launching a 20-day film appreciation course. Classes run from August 1 to 20 at the Classroom Theatre in Palace Gate, Imphal. The Department of Art and Culture, Government of Manipur, is backing the program alongside the International Federation of Film Critics-India.

MSFTI Director Angom Shijalembi Chanu announced the schedule today. The institute wants to give students a deeper look at the craft of cinema. They believe this study helps build better filmmakers. "Film appreciation plays a vital role in promoting film education and quality filmmaking," the institute noted in a press release.

Pick up application forms at the institute office between July 22 and July 29. Office hours are 10 am to 4 pm. You must submit your completed forms and required documents by July 30 to secure a spot.

Registration costs vary by category. General candidates pay Rs 500. OBC students pay Rs 450. Other reserved categories pay Rs 300. Staff invited interested candidates to visit the office for more information during the sign-up period.
