Manipur CM Orders Security Crackdown After Civilian Killings in Kangpokpi

Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh has issued a stern directive to state and central security agencies to track down those responsible for the killing of three civilians in Kangpokpi district. The attack occurred on Thursday morning at Loibol Khullen village, prompting the Chief Minister to condemn the violence as a cowardly and unacceptable targeting of unarmed individuals.

Addressing the escalation, the Chief Minister vowed that the perpetrators will face justice. He stated, "I strongly condemn the heinous attack at Loibol Khullen, Kangpokpi District, which claimed the lives of three innocent civilians. Such cowardly acts against unarmed civilians are unacceptable." Beyond the search for the attackers, authorities have been instructed to bolster security measures in vulnerable regions and provide relief to the grieving families.

In a separate development, the Chief Minister addressed the recent death of Havildar Kh. Suresh Singh, an officer with the 4th India Reserve Battalion who was stabbed while on duty on June 3. He praised the Thoubal District Police for their swift work in capturing the primary suspect the following day. Singh extended his condolences to the bereaved family of the officer while reaffirming the government's commitment to maintaining law and order across the state.
