Manipur Chief Minister Welcomes Release of 14 Hostages, Urges Peace

Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh welcomed the safe release of 14 Kuki hostages on Tuesday, June 9. The Chief Minister described the development as a positive humanitarian step during a time of significant unrest in the state.

Khemchand Singh credited Naga civil society groups for their role in securing the safe return of the individuals. He praised the Naga community for their intervention, noting that the act displayed deep compassion and a commitment to preserving human life. The Chief Minister urged all sections of society to abandon violence and participate in the collective effort to restore normalcy. He highlighted that the ongoing crisis has inflicted substantial hardship on victims and their families, necessitating an immediate end to further conflict.
