Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh met with the Meitei Union Kangpokpi District at the State Secretariat on June 23. The delegation, led by Laishom Hemanta, Moirangthem Joy, and Hirom Ningthem, pressed the government for immediate help. They want housing and supplies for families forced out of their homes by ongoing ethnic fighting. It is a long, ugly conflict.

Khemchand Singh listened to their list of demands. He promised that the state government would take action to support the displaced people. His office claims they are working to restore order and get aid to those who lost everything. The situation remains volatile.

"The concerns of the affected families will be addressed with due consideration," Khemchand Singh said. The government remains focused on relief efforts for all victims of the violence across Manipur. They are trying to get life back to normal.
