Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh visited Heirok on May 24 to evaluate the progress of several critical infrastructure developments. Accompanied by local MLA Thokchom Radheshyam Singh and various government officials, the Chief Minister focused on projects ranging from education facilities to public health and urban services.
A centerpiece of the visit was the new Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya at Salungpham, a project valued at approximately 100 crore rupees. While the foundation stone for the permanent campus is already in place, students are currently attending classes at the Model Residential School in Heirok Part-II until construction concludes.
Healthcare services in the region are also receiving attention through the ongoing renovation of the local Primary Health Centre. These upgrades are designed to provide better medical access to residents and eventually offer round-the-clock facilities. Additionally, the inspection covered civic initiatives managed by the Heirok Municipal Council, which include improvements to sanitation, waste management, road access, and market infrastructure.
The Chief Minister directed government departments to ensure these projects remain on schedule and improve coordination for better public service delivery. He emphasized that the state government remains dedicated to monitoring these developments closely to enhance essential services throughout Manipur.
