Manipur Chief Minister Announces New Infrastructure and Relief Projects in Mayang-Imphal

Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh visited Mayang-Imphal on Sunday to distribute financial aid and inaugurate a variety of new community projects. During his visit to the relief camp at Pravabati College, located 26 kilometers from Imphal city, the Chief Minister provided 1 lakh rupees to a displaced family to assist with medical expenses for a relative facing health issues.

Following his time at the relief camp, the Chief Minister inaugurated a multipurpose indoor hall at Charoipung Playground funded by the Khelo India scheme. He praised the local athletes for their contributions to the region's sporting success. Responding to requests from local representative Kongkham Robindro Singh, Khemchand promised the construction of a new football turf, student hostels, and improved approach roads.

The Chief Minister emphasized the need for unity and development despite the recent crisis impacting the state. He encouraged residents to organize into self-help groups, noting that the government has set aside 350 crore rupees to support such initiatives. During the ceremony, he honored local players and coaches with commendation certificates.

The visit also included the opening of new educational facilities at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, featuring a 100-bedded girls hostel, eight classrooms, a library, and a science block. Before concluding his trip, the Chief Minister inspected a hospital under construction in the Wangoi sub-division and met with local organizations to discuss further infrastructure improvements, such as the potential construction of a volleyball court.
