Imphal: The five-day Revival of Indigenous Native Games, known as RING 2026, wrapped up recently in Manipur. The event focused on honoring the region's cultural identity through traditional sports and martial arts, drawing a diverse crowd of athletes, enthusiasts, and community members.

He noted that the sport is now gaining traction nationally through the Khelo India scheme and encouraged a push to bring these indigenous practices to an international stage. He emphasized that these sports are essential for maintaining the state's historical heritage.

Chief Guest Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi praised Manipur as a sporting powerhouse and advocated for expanding the reach of these games beyond state borders. She highlighted that these activities instill physical fitness, discipline, and moral values in the youth, while also fostering a sense of pride in their local roots. She called on all members of society to join forces to protect and promote Manipur's sporting traditions for future generations.
