Man killed by passenger train in Tinsukia

Guwahati: A passenger train struck and killed a man near the Ashok Nagar railway crossing in Makum on Monday morning. The incident happened around 6 a.m. as the Ledo-Rangiya train moved through Tinsukia district. The man died instantly.

Railway Protection Force and Government Railway Police officers rushed to the site. They found an Aadhaar card on the body and confirmed the victim was Tapan Ghosh, a resident of Titabor in Jorhat. Officials sent the body to Tinsukia Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem exam.

Police have filed a case to track down exactly how the collision occurred. They are still looking into whether this was an accidental crossing or something else. A police official stated, "It is yet to be determined whether the victim was accidentally crossing the tracks or whether any other factors contributed to the death." The investigation continues as authorities wait for more information.
