Imphal: The Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board held its annual Langban Chara Tamba ceremony at Haying Khongban, Uphong Yumpham. The event centered on the theme Katchari Naphamda Langban Thana Lakpada. It served as a memorial for those killed during the 2023 conflict and recognized people who protected the temple board. The crowd gathered under a solemn sky.
Keirao MLA Lourembam Rameshwor attended as the chief guest, while LSTB Vice-Chairman Chanam Nabachandra presided over the event. Other guests included Dr. Waikhom Romesh of GP Women’s College, former board member Keisham Ibomcha Meitei, and LSTB Maibarel Maisnam Iboba Luwang. They marked the full-moon day of Langban with specific intent.
Rameshwor addressed the attendees to reflect on the recent violence. He stated, "Those who sacrificed their lives in defence of the territorial integrity of Manipur would remain immortal in the hearts of the people." He also paid respects to the heroes of the Anglo-Manipur War. He urged the public to draw inspiration from their historical courage and determination.
