Imphal: The Kuki National Front (KNF) has rejected claims linking the organization to recent violence in Manipur. In a June 13, 2026, press statement, the group denounced allegations of its involvement in attacks on villages, including Loibol Khullen, Kultuh, and Langka, as well as broader reports of kidnappings and homicides across hill districts.

Addressing the criticism, the organization stated that it has "been constantly accused" by media outlets and social media users of inciting hostilities. The KNF dismissed these reports as entirely without merit, arguing that specific political actors and media organizations are intentionally spreading unverified claims to escalate regional tensions.

The group suggested that the unrest is being engineered to jeopardize political negotiations between Kuki-Zo representatives and the Indian government regarding the Suspension of Operations framework. Emphasizing its commitment to a peaceful resolution, the KNF asserted that it favors dialogue over military action. It noted that local village volunteers have remained active since the 2023 ethnic conflict began, primarily to defend their own communities and property.

The KNF described these allegations as a calculated effort to smear its reputation and stall peace initiatives. The organization urged the media to exercise caution when reporting sensitive information, reminding the public that "truth must prevail over misinformation."
