Imphal: The Kuki Inpi Manipur has denounced the bombing of Leilon Vaiphei village that occurred on June 15. The organization alleges that cadres from the NSCN-IM and the Zeliangrong United Front were responsible for the attack.

In a statement issued Monday, the group condemned the act as a significant threat to civilian safety and regional security. The organization noted that the assault damaged local property and endangered the lives of residents. Describing the targeting of civilian settlements as "unacceptable and inhuman," the group expressed alarm over the ongoing instability in the region.

The Kuki Inpi challenged the authorities to explain why these armed groups continue to operate freely despite the climate of fear they have created. The organization warned that any failure by the government to act could erode public trust and embolden those responsible for the violence.

To restore order, the group is urging security agencies to identify, arrest, and prosecute the perpetrators. They are also advocating for a stronger security presence to prevent future incidents. "The safety of civilians must be treated as the highest priority," the statement said, while emphasizing that justice is essential for achieving lasting peace. Officials have yet to release a statement regarding the incident.
