Imphal: Kuki organizations are demanding immediate federal intervention after the alleged burning of Phaimol village in Manipur’s Kamjong district. The Committee on Tribal Unity and the Kuki CSO Working Committee claim the attack was a calculated strike.

Both groups identify the perpetrators as NSCN-IM cadres backed by the Myanmar-based Shanni Nationalist Army. They assert the attackers launched the raid on Wednesday morning to terrorize civilians. The Committee on Tribal Unity claims the assault was not spontaneous. It warned the involvement of foreign fighters "posed a serious challenge to peace and security across the North East."

This incident follows an earlier attack on Kultuh village on June 11. Local leaders describe a pattern of targeted violence designed to displace the Kuki-Zo community. Extremist factions are allegedly stoking communal fires to weaken the region.

The Kuki CSO Working Committee called on the Assam Rifles to raid the Chatric area. They claim this location serves as the staging ground for ongoing aggression. Both organizations want the federal government to arrest and prosecute those responsible for the destruction. Authorities have yet to respond to the allegations.
