Guwahati: Preparations are underway at the Maa Kamakhya temple in Guwahati for the annual Ambubachi Mela. This religious festival is scheduled to begin on the night of June 22 and will conclude at sunrise on June 26. As one of the largest spiritual gatherings in Northeast India, the event draws lakhs of saints and pilgrims from across the country.

Temple officials and the district administration are working together to manage the large expected turnout. They are focused on enhancing security by installing advanced CCTV cameras throughout the temple complex. To address congestion, authorities have introduced a new pilgrim route from the Pandu side to complement the existing Nursery route. This addition is intended to streamline crowd movement and improve the overall visitor experience.

Sadhus have already begun arriving at the historic shrine as the festival approaches. Local authorities remain committed to providing a secure and well-managed environment for all attendees throughout the four-day event.
