Kohima: Japfü Christian College sent its Class of 2026 into the world on August 17. The ceremony took place at the ZAPA Indoor Stadium in Kigwema. Graduates from six departments received their degrees through the college Internal Quality Assurance Cell. These fields included Economics, Education, English, Political Science, History, and Sociology.
Bodenos S Colo served as the commencement speaker. She is the Commissioner and Secretary of the Department of Art and Culture for the Government of Nagaland. Colo told the crowd the college is a place where faith, education, character, and service meet. She pushed the graduates to hold onto humility and resilience. "Reminding the graduates that their degrees were only the beginning, she urged them to use their knowledge, skills, and values to serve society at large."
Principal Prof Visakhonu Hibo congratulated the students on their hard work. She told them to keep chasing new goals. Kedosekho from the Political Science Department took home the Molhou Zhasa Award for Academic Excellence. He also gave the valedictory speech. Dr. Akho Yhokha, the Treasurer of the Board of Management, asked the group to think in fresh ways.
The event opened with an academic procession and an invocation by Resident Officer Vizapo Kikhi. Mutsou Z Lohe and fifth-semester student Deborah Hibo performed music during the event. The ceremony wrapped up with a final blessing from LIFE Ministries Director Colo Mero and the National Anthem.
