Kohima: Nagaland is set to host an Indian Air Force recruitment rally this September. It marks the first time in ten years the state has held such an event for the Agniveervayu scheme. Officials finalized the plan during a June 10 meeting in Kohima led by the Special Secretary of the Home Department.
Wing Commander A. Muralidharan said that youth from the Northeast often miss these chances because of low awareness. He noted that the rally would provide a valuable opportunity for Nagaland’s youth to serve in the IAF. Both men and women can apply for the Non-Technical category.
The rally will likely take place at the Nagaland Armed Police Training Centre in Chümoukedima. The site already has the required infrastructure to handle the influx of applicants. The IAF requested state support, including transport and housing for roughly 75 personnel.
Multiple state departments are now coordinating the logistics. The Police Headquarters will appoint a nodal officer, while the health department will send doctors and an ambulance. Four teachers will assist with paperwork. The IAF plans to release full eligibility rules 45 days before the start date to drive up participation.
