Guwahati: Muslims across India gathered at mosques and Eidgahs on Thursday to celebrate Eid al-Adha. Devotees attended morning prayers throughout the country, with officials reporting peaceful observances in all major states.

In Assam, large crowds attended morning Namaz in Guwahati, specifically at the Hatigaon and Machkhowa areas. Worshippers at the Machkhowa Eidgah Maidan focused their messages on peace and communal unity. Similar celebrations took place across the state in districts including Dibrugarh, Kokrajhar, Sipajhar, and Jogighopa.

Major urban centers also saw significant participation. In Delhi, thousands filled the Jama Masjid and Fatehpuri Masjid to pray and exchange messages of brotherhood. Rajasthan observed large gatherings at the Khwaja Garib Nawaz Dargah following the morning opening of the Jannati Darwaza.

State authorities implemented extensive security measures to manage the large crowds. Police in Delhi conducted flag marches in sensitive localities, while law enforcement in Uttar Pradesh stationed personnel at mosques to regulate traffic and monitor public safety. Officials confirmed that the holiday concluded without any significant security incidents across the country.
