Itanagar: The Ministry of Home Affairs shook up the administration on July 9. It pushed through the transfer of 21 IAS and 40 IPS officers with immediate effect. These moves hit Arunachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, and other regions under the AGMUT cadre.
Shahid Iqbal Choudhary is moving to Arunachal Pradesh from Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile, Saugat Biswas heads the other way, leaving Arunachal for the Jammu and Kashmir posting. The government framed the order as a routine administrative exercise, noting the reshuffle is "part of the Centre's routine administrative exercise aimed at reassigning AGMUT cadre officers across Union Territories and the northeastern states to meet governance and administrative requirements."
A host of senior officers are packing their bags for Delhi. IAS officers Vivek Pandey, Pawan Kumar Sain, Amjad Tak, and Shweta Nagarkoti are leaving Arunachal Pradesh for the capital. The police ranks are also thinning in the Northeast. IPS officers Vivek Kishore, Chinmoy Biswal, Satyawan Gautam, and Angad Mehta received orders to move from Arunachal Pradesh to Delhi.
The reshuffle stretches across the entire map. Garima Gupta moves from Mizoram to Delhi, while Mamta Yadav swaps a Delhi desk for one in Jammu and Kashmir. IPS officers from Andaman and Nicobar, Goa, and Puducherry also landed new assignments in the capital city. Others, such as Vishnu Kumar and Anand Kumar Mishra, are leaving Delhi to take up posts in Jammu and Kashmir.
