Guwahati: An ICU physician died by suicide Wednesday while working at Nemcare Hospital in Guwahati. Staff discovered Prayash Singhal unresponsive on the second floor of the hospital's new building. He was on duty at the time.
Hospital employees alerted local authorities after finding the doctor. A police team arrived at the scene shortly after to start a probe. Investigators are currently looking into the circumstances surrounding the death. Official sources noted the doctor may have faced mental distress, though no formal cause has been established.
