Imphal: Hb. Lovingson Anal officially took office as the new general secretary of the Anallon Chief Association (ALCA) this Thursday. The installation ceremony took place at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Lamphoupasna, Chandel district. Lovingson, who serves as the chief of Oklu village, was sworn into his new position by ALCA Assembly Speaker Hb. Chaningam, the chief of Toupokpi village.
During the event, Reverend Fr. Jose of the St. Dominic Mission Centre performed the blessing for the new secretary. Lovingson pledged his commitment to the role, promising to serve the community with honesty and to uphold the Anal No, or law, for the collective benefit of the Anal Naga people. The ALCA Speaker urged the new official to work with dedication and diligence throughout his tenure.
ALCA vice president Hb. Hebarson noted that the choice of venue reflects the organization's interdenominational character, stating that "the ceremony was held in a Catholic Church to show that the association is an interdenominational association and that it is meant for the Anal Naga community." He mentioned that future installation events will likely rotate to other denominations, such as the SDA church.
The proceedings included welcome addresses from Nl. Wolhring and Lamphoupasna chief Nl. Kono. Representatives from the local Women Society and other guests provided musical performances. The event drew a wide audience, including the ANTA president, various ALCA executive members, village chiefs, and local community members.
